Will Brexit affect my order?

If you are located in a country that is not in the European Union, Brexit won't impact your order in any way. If you are located in the EU, there may be some changes to the usual processes due to Brexit. We have put together some information to help you receive your order smoothly below.

What does Brexit mean?

The UK left the European Union on the 1st January 2021. As a result, the UK is no longer part of the EU’s single market and customs union, and new rules apply. The EU now treats postal items from the UK as it did non-EU items before, this means that there may be customs charges applied to your Supakit order if you live in Europe. Each country will have individual rules and pricing for customs and duties, we recommend visiting your local postal service website to get more details and obtain the exact price. We’re pleased to say that we have not observed any changes to our estimated shipping times due to Brexit.

What have Supakit done to ensure ordering to EU destinations is easy?

From August 2nd 2021, Supakit have improved the way that we process orders to the EU to minimise the disruption to your ordering experience.

When you place an order to an EU destination, it’ll be processed in one of two ways:

  • Orders with a total cart value under 150€ (including shipping): VAT will be included in the final cart cost, and we will pay any import charges on your behalf, meaning no fees will be applied to your order upon arrival to your destination country.
  • Orders with a total cart value over 150€ (including shipping): Your local Customs office will process orders with a total value over 150€ in the same way they do for all other non-EU items, meaning VAT charges (and possibly duties) will be applied upon arrival into the country. The carrier will notify you of these charges once the order has processed at the border. To check the rate and charges of your specific country, we advise visiting your local carrier’s website.

Customers looking to order multiple items that amount to over 150€  (including shipping), are welcome to split their order and place multiple, smaller orders with a value under 150€ to avoid charges and/or duties upon delivery.

Tips for ordering to the EU

  1. Be very careful to check your cats size before ordering; we still welcome returns but as we do not have an exchange policy, if you need to return your items and re-order in a different size, a second customs fee could apply (depending on the cart value, as detailed above).
  2. Keep an eye on your tracking information; once your order has been dispatched you will receive a tracking link via email - keep an eye on this information as once your order passes over the border, it may be held until any customs or duties are paid to the carrier, failure to do this could cause your order to be returned to the UK.
