How does an AirTag help track my cat?
With a small AirTag attached to your cat's collar or harness, you can use your iPhone to track their location, helping you find them if they wander off.
How do AirTags work?
AirTags use Bluetooth to connect with your iPhone. The tag emits a signal that your phone picks up, recording the location. You can see it on the Find My app's map. The Find My network also helps locate your cat by using other Apple devices nearby.
Can I see my cat's location in real-time?
While AirTags offer precise tracking, they don't provide real-time location updates. Instead, you'll be able to see the last known location of your cat on a map within the Find My app.
What if my cat goes out of range of my iPhone?
If your cat goes out of Bluetooth range, you won't be able to track them directly. However, you can leverage the Find My network to help locate your cat if someone with an Apple device passes by them.
Is it safe for my cat to wear an AirTag?
Yes, AirTags are designed to be lightweight and safe for pets. However, make sure to attach the AirTag securely to your cat's collar or harness to prevent it from falling off (we’ve got you covered with our AirTag holders on this front!)
Are AirTags a replacement for ID tags and microchips?
No, they’re an extra layer of security, but it’s still essential for your cat to be microchipped. It’s also worthwhile them having a visible ID tag too in case someone else encounters your cat first and needs to know how to contact you.
Are there any monthly fees for using AirTag to track my cat?
No, there are no additional fees for using AirTag to track your cat. You only need an iPhone with the Find My app installed.
How long does the AirTag battery last?
AirTag batteries typically last for about a year, and you'll receive a notification on your iPhone when it's time to replace the battery.
