What size are Supakit collars?

Supakit collars are fully adjustable, so there's usually no need to measure your cat's neck. Simply choose based on your cat's weight, which determines which strength breakaway buckle they'll need.

Both sizes have the same 10 mm (3/8 in) wide band. The breakaway buckle itself is 15mm (5/8 in) wide, so if you're using a third-party accessory that slides on from one end, use these measurements to check it can clear the buckle and still sit comfortably on the band.

Why does my cat's weight matter?

Every Supakit collar has a breakaway buckle. In the unlikely event that your cat is ever caught by their collar, the buckle will slide open under their body weight and let them break free safely. Because the buckle relies on your cat's weight to open, we make two versions.

Regular buckle
Designed for all cats over 2.5 kg (5.5 lb). This is our main buckle, and it will last your cat through all their adult years.

Kitten buckle
Designed for cats between 1 kg and 2.5 kg (2.2 to 5.5 lb). It lets kittens and little cats start wearing a collar safely while they're still too small for the regular buckle.

Growing kitten? Once your kitten is heavy enough for a regular collar, we recommend making the switch to regular size. This keeps collar losses to a minimum. Learn more about this transition.
