How to fit your Supakit collar
Getting the fit right is the single most important thing you can do when it comes to your cat's collar. A well-fitted collar means more comfort, fewer losses and a happier cat. Here's what you're looking for.
The perfect fit

Adjust the length of your cat's collar so that you can slide one fingertip between the collar and their body, with their fur compressed.
If that feels snugger than you're used to, don't worry. Supakit collars are designed to sit close to your cat's body, with a beautifully soft lining so they barely know it's there.
Not too tight
If you can't comfortably slide one fingertip under the collar, it needs a little more room. Take it off, extend the length slightly, and pop it back on.
But not too loose
We know it's tempting to leave a little extra room, especially if you're thinking about comfort. But a loose collar can actually cause more problems than a snug one. Here's why:
- Collar losses. A loose collar is far more likely to snag on things as your cat explores. One catch and the safety breakaway clicks open. It's actually the most common reason collars go missing.
- Discomfort. A loose collar slides and rubs against your cat's fur, which can be surprisingly irritating. Think of it like wearing a watch strap so loose it swings around your wrist all day.
- Safety risks. A collar with too much slack can get caught in your cat's mouth, or let them slip a paw through the band. A proper fit prevents both.
